Self Bag Drop
Self-Bag-Drop: baggage drop at the machine
Fully automated baggage drop saves you valuable time at check-in. A total of 20 self bag drop kiosks are available in Terminal 1, and 10 in Terminal 2. You can check in and drop your bags between 4:00am and 8:30pm, without a long wait and regardless of the airline’s opening hours. A further 18 automated check-in kiosks are also available at Hamburg Airport.

Self-bag-drop

  1. Scan boarding pass.
  2. Answer the security question about the contents of the bag.
  3. Place the bag on the conveyor belt. The bag is automatically measured and weighed before the baggage tag is printed.
  4. Remove the printed, self-adhesive baggage tag and attach it securely to the baggage item (simply press the backs together). Please do not remove anything from the tag, you will receive a receipt.
  5. End baggage check-in by confirming it. Your luggage will be retrieved from the belt. Please repeat the process for any additional suitcases or bags.
  6. Take the receipt with you and keep it safe. If you lose your baggage, you will need the receipt to locate it quickly.
  7. Bulky baggage: To avoid damage, please hand in your bulky baggage at the regular check-in counter.

Please note that this service is only available with an existing boarding pass.
