Welcome to HAM Depart & Arrive Security Check

Federal Police: Security Check

At Hamburg Airport there is a central security check for both terminals, which is the responsibility of the federal police. The security checkpoint is located between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 on Level 1 of the Plaza. All passengers must go through security to get to the departure gates. Here, the federal police provides tips on how to get through the security check quickly and stress-free.

Special lanes

Families with small children (0-6 years) and people with reduced mobility (PRM) with walking aids wider than 50cm (wheelchairs, rollators) cannot use the Slot & Fly lane or the Fastlane for technical reasons. Our PRM/family lane in the Airport Plaza is still available for you as usual.

The federal police informed: How to get through the security check quickly

  1. Keep your plane ticket and important documents at hand: Your boarding pass and important ID or medication documents for prescription medication that you need to carry in your hand luggage must be available at any time during the inspection.
  2. Pay attention to the prescribed luggage dimension: The hand luggage dimensions vary depending on the airline. Please inform yourself in good time about the permitted dimensions.
  3. Pay attention to the permissible fluid regulations: Liquids of max. 100ml per container are to be transported in hand luggage in a bag provided for this purpose. Do not take sharp or pointed objects with you. Liquid medication as well as baby and special foods that you require during a flight can also be carried in large quantities in your hand luggage.
  4. Always keep electronic devices to hand:
Electronic devices such as laptops, mobile phones, tablets or cameras belong at the top of your hand luggage so that you always have them to hand and can get them out quickly if necessary.
  5.  Follow instructions given by security staff
