Federal police passenger control

Sicherheitskontrolle by Oliver Sorg

At Hamburg Airport there is a central security check for both terminals, which is the responsibility of the federal police. The security checkpoint is located between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 on Level 1 of the Plaza. All passengers must go through security to get to the departure gates. Here, the federal police provides tips on how to get through the security check quickly and stress-free.

The federal police informed: How to get through the security check quickly

  • Keep your plane ticket and important documents at hand: Your boarding pass and important ID or medication documents for prescription medication that you need to carry in your hand luggage must be available at any time during the inspection.
  • Pay attention to the prescribed luggage dimension: The hand luggage dimensions vary depending on the airline. Please inform yourself in good time about the permitted dimensions.
  • Pay attention to the permissible fluid regulations: Liquids of max. 100ml per container are to be transported in hand luggage in a bag provided for this purpose. Do not take sharp or pointed objects with you. Liquid medication as well as baby and special foods that you require during a flight can also be carried in large quantities in your hand luggage.
  • Put electronic devices on the belt separately: Electronic devices such as laptops, mobile phones, tablets or cameras must be removed from your hand luggage during the security check and placed separately in a box provided.
  •  Follow instructions given by security staff
