Back in the route network: four weekly flights to Bergen in Norway

07.06.2023

Welcome back to Hamburg Airport: Norwegian airline Widerøe is taking off again non-stop from Hamburg to Bergen after a break due to corona. The route is served every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are available at www.wideroe.no and at all travel agencies.

"Widerøe's comeback is good news, especially for Scandinavia fans. With Bergen in Norway, the airline is bringing an attractive destination back into Hamburg's route network, which has not been served non-stop from Hamburg for some time. This means that North Germans can now travel to the Norwegian west coast again without a stopover – and start a round trip or discover the region from there," says Dirk Behrens, Head of Aviation at Hamburg Airport.

Bergen – Historic harbour city and gateway to the fjords

Bergen, Norway's second largest city, is beautifully nestled in nature surrounded by forests, fjords and hiking areas. For this reason, the city has nicknames like "the heart of the fjords" or "the city between the seven hills". Colourful houses, shops with handicrafts and historical museums line the streets and contribute to the picturesque charm. In addition, Bergen, just like Hamburg, is a Hanseatic city: the city was one of the headquarters of the Hanseatic League and therefore the centre of Norwegian foreign trade for several centuries. Travellers can look forward to an eclectic mix of nature and culture in Bergen or set off on a road trip through Norway from there.

Four times a week to Bergen

With four weekly flights, northern Germans can once again travel quickly and flexibly to Bergen, Norway. On Tuesdays Widerøe takes off from Hamburg to Bergen at 16:20. On Thursdays, the departure from Hamburg is already at 12:50. On Saturdays and Sundays, the flight leaves Hamburg for Bergen at 13:05. The flight takes about 1:40 hours. The route is served by a De Havilland DHC-8 400 Series.
