Quick-start guide to online parking space reservations

  1. Visit us on the web at https://parking.hamburg-airport.de. Reservations are possible up to 24 hours before the commencement of online parking space reservation.
  2. Select your period of travel. You will then see a list of all available parking products.
  3. If you have a voucher, enter the code now.
  4. You may register with a user account or choose to make your online parking space reservation as a guest. You may choose to pay with a common credit card.
  5. Check once more to make sure that the details are all correct and then confirm the binding reservation. 
  6. You should immediately receive a booking confirmation by email.
  7. Have a nice trip.

 

 

General questions on the reservation process



No, advance online parking space reservation are not absolutely necessary for you to park your vehicle at Hamburg Airport. We do, however, advice you to reserve your parking space in advance, especially during peak travel periods. 

Online parking space reservations - benefits for you: 

  • A guaranteed parking space is available in the selected car park.
  • Paying online during the booking process means you don't have to look for a pay machine.
  • Our current voucher code for online parking space reservation is available here.

If you travel to Hamburg Airport without an advance online parking space reservation, you can use our car parks depending on availability. Find about parking fees and car park availability on our website before you set off.

You must make your reservation at least 24 hours in advance.

If you cannot book this far in advance, a reservation is not possible. In such cases, we advise you to find out about parking fees and car park availability in advance.

No, telephone reservations of parking spaces are currently not possible. Booking scan only be made on our reservation page.

To save money on your online parking reservation, use the current voucher code found on our website in the “Parking done right at Hamburg Airport” section.

The voucher code is only valid for online parking reservations during the reservation process. You cannot apply the voucher for a refund later.

With our new reservation system, you can decide for yourself if you want to make a parking reservation as a guest or with a user account.

User account — benefits for you:

  • You can retrieve your reservation documents again at a later time.
  • You can change the dates or car park for your bookings via the user account, subject to availability.
  • You only have to register once and can then use your details again later, making future reservations quicker.

Please note that the activation link, sent to you by email after you create your user account, has to be clicked within 24 hours. If you do not click on this link, your user account cannot be used for further reservations.

Once you enter your travel period, the available parking products for online parking space reservation are listed. If the parking product you want is not listed, it is no longer available for this period. We advise you to choose a different parking product for your journey.

There are various possible reasons that a parking product is not available:
  • The allocation for the parking product is already booked out. The availability display on our website shows currently free spaces for customers without a reservation!
  • Your reservation does not satisfy the minimum length of stay for the product you want.

It is of course possible that your flight times will change. This is why we have designed our parking products to allow you to arrive and leave earlier or later.

The following options are available to you:

  • Earlier arrival:Depending on the parking product you have booked, you may be able to enter early. For more information, consult your booking confirmation.Pay any surcharges at the payment machine when you return. The fees displayed apply.
  • Later arrival: Your reserved space will be kept free for you for the entire time you booked, so that arriving later is always possible. Please note that there is no partial refund for later arrival.
  • Earlier departure: Leaving earlier is of course possible. Please note that there is no partial refund for earlier departure.
  • Later departure: Later departure is not a problem. You will have to pay the surcharge at the payment machine. The fees displayed apply.

Only for customers with a user account: You can make changes to your existing booking up to 24 hours before your entrance in advance, as follows:

  1. Log in at https://parking.hamburg-airport.de/iPCP/login using your registration details.
  2. Then click on “My bookings” / “Actions” / “Change”.
  3. You can then choose the correct or new travel period.
  4. Important note: If you had a voucher code, you will have to enter it again when you make a change in the calendar.
  5. If the fee changes as a result, the difference will automatically be charged to the means of payment you nominated. There is no refund or credit given for cheaper parking products (e.g. shorter duration).
  6. Please confirm the change by clicking on “confirm booking”. You will then receive a “Change of Booking Confirmation” with a new reservation number by email.

 

You may cancel an existing online parking space reservation up to 12 hours before parking is due to begin. Cancellation is only possible online. It is not possible to cancel by email, fax or post.

In the event of a cancellation, the parking fee will automatically be refunded to the means of payment you have nominated with your credit card, subject to a deduction for the reservation fee. We therefore ask you not to cancel payment with your credit card provider, as this will result in additional costs.

 

 

How to cancel a booking with your user account:

  • Log in here using your email address and password.
  • Then click on “My bookings”.
  • Click on the “Action” button next to your reservation and select “Cancel”.
  • The cancellation will then be confirmed by email.

How to cancel a booking made as guest:

  • Open the email we sent containing your booking confirmation. You will find a cancellation link there.
  • Click on this link, enter the email address you used for the booking again, and then click “Cancel”.
  • The cancellation will then be confirmed by email.

If you cannot cancel within the cancellation period and do not use your booking, you are not entitled to a refund of parking fees.

Of course it's possible, that your license plate number has changed after completing your booking. Please note following information:

You made an online parking space reservation with a customer account?

  • Please log in here with your email address and password.
  • Click on "My Account" and then on "Reservation".
  • Click on "Id" of the current reservation number and the booking will be opened.
  • Through the pen-button you can change your license plate number.
Please note: you don't receive an updated reservation confirmation with your new license plate number. A change is possible up to 15 minutes before enter the car park. If you aren't able to change this, please use the QR-Code on your reservation confirmation.

You made an online parking space reservation with a guest account?

It's not possible to change your license plate number when you booked with a guest account. So please use this QR-Code you have received with the reservation confirmation at the entrance.

Questions about reservation documents



Once you have made a binding reservation, the booking confirmation will automatically be sent to the email address you provided. The delivery time may vary depending on your email providers. We recommend checking your inbox and your junk mail folder again a bit later.

 

If no message has been delivered a bit later, we recommend:

If you made the online parking reservation from your user account

  • Log in here, click on "My Accounts" and then "Reservation".
  • Your booking is not listed? If the booking is not listed, something went wrong during the booking process and no binding reservation has been made. Maybe the button "binding booking" wasn't pressed of there was a disconnection. So please repeat the booking process and pay attention to any error messages.

If you made the online parking reservation as guest

There is a listed amount on your credit card although you don't have a booking?

During the booking process you were informed that as soon as you insert the credit card data, our system sent an automatically authorization request to your credit card company. In case the reservation wasn't completed correctly, the amount will be shown as a reserved amount on your credit card statement, but will not be debited. The deletion of the reserved amount will be communicated to your credit card automatically. The time of deletion is regulated individually according to the billing method of your credit card company. If more details are required for this case, please contact your credit card company directly.

Our booking confirmations in PDF format are printable.

As every end-user device has different settings and anti-virus systems, it may happen that printing a PDF file is not straightforward. We have no influence over this situation, but the following suggestions may help:

  • Print the PDF file as an image: Open the booking confirmation, click “Print” and open the “Advanced” option. Select the option for “Print As Image”.
  • Deactivate protected mode (for Adobe Acrobat Reader): Open the booking confirmation, click “Edit” and open the “Preferences” option. Then click on “Security (Enhanced)”. Remove the check mark for the option “Enable Protected Mode at startup”.

 

Please note that a change of address (e.g. for invoicing) is not applied to existing parking reservations. The change to your details will only be reflected for future bookings.

If you have made the reservation from a user account, you can make the changes yourself

  • Log in here using your email address and password
  • Click on “User data".
  • Make the changes you require there.

 

In order to correctly use the PKPASS-format file, you need a special app on your smartphone. We recommend the following apps for common smartphone manufacturers:

Apple iPhone (operating system iOS 6 and higher):
Your smartphone automatically has a wallet app, Passbook, installed. As soon as you download the PKPASS file from the confirmation email, the app will automatically open. You can use the “Add” function to store the file in the App.

Android smartphone:
Your smartphone does not have a pre-installed app for opening this type of file. Please download an appropriate app from the Play Store. Possible search terms include “PassWallet”, “Wallet” or “Passbook”.

We also recommend ensuring that you have the latest operating system and the latest version of the wallet app on your smartphone. Otherwise, it is possible that the wallet file will not be correctly displayed.

It is not possible to open the wallet file on your computer or tablet!

Questions about payment and security



You can pay by credit card. The entire amount due will automatically be charged to your credit card as soon as the reservation process is complete. You therefore do not need to make a wire transfer or payment at the payment machines.

Any surcharges (for earlier arrival or later departure) are to be paid in cash or with an EC or credit card directly at the payment machines.

Yes! Throughout the reservation process, the data connection is secure. We use one of the most secure reservation systems with electronic card payment for the online parking reservation system at Hamburg Airport. Focal points of security are the secure processing of customer and payment card information and the protection of customer identities.

As soon as you undertake your booking on our reservation page, you will be informed that the parking space booking takes place using an SSL-secured data connection. You can also see this from the URL address (https://) and the security symbol in the data entry fields.

Questions about the direct parking process



Do not take a parking ticket! Please pay attention to the information on your booking confirmation!

Drive your vehicle directly to the entry for the parking product you have booked. Different entry methods apply depending on the parking product. Your booking confirmation will tell you what you need to enter the car park.

  • QR code: You have received the QR code by email (PDF file and PKPASS file) after completing the booking. Hold the code, either printed on paper or displayed on your smartphone, directly in front of the scanner on the entry/exit barrier. After a short time the barrier will open automatically. You will find the exact description in your booking confirmation.
  • Number plate recognition: You provided your number plate (vehicle registration no.) during the booking process. Please approach the entry/exit barrier slowly in your vehicle. Your vehicle registration (number plate) will be read and the barrier will open automatically. A detailed description of the process is included in your booking confirmation.

    You may change the vehicle registration no. up to 15 minutes before the planned entry time. This is only possible if you have a user account. Log in at https://parking.hamburg-airport.de/iPCP/login and click on "ID" of the currect reservation number and booking will open. Push the pen-button and change your plate number.

    If you cannot satisfy this time limit or if you have made the booking as guest, use the QR code at the entry/exit barrier.

If you have chosen a seasonal product, you may require a different means of accessing the car park. Please consult your booking confirmation for details.

If you have a problem at the barrier, please press the information button. The Parking Management Center is available to help you around the clock.

The online parking space reservation provides you with a free parking space for the parking product you have booked. Even if the car park display says that there are no available spaces, you can still enter. If a member of staff is blocking entry, please show your booking confirmation and you will be allowed to enter.

No. The booking entitles you to single entry and exit of the car park. Once you have left the car park, the booking is closed and cannot be reactivated.

All our shuttle bus services are free

 

P8-9 multi-storey car park:
The free shuttle from P8-9 to the terminals departs every 20 minutes, commuting back and forth between the car parks and terminals. Travelling time is approximately 12 minutes. A detailed timetable is available here. Please plan sufficient time for the transfer.

Bus stop at the terminal: Bus stop C at Arrivals, between Terminals 1 and 2.
Bus stop at the car park: Directly at the entry/exit for the P8-9 multi-storey car park

 

Seasonal products:
If you have booked a seasonal product with shuttle, the shuttle buses will operate on an individual basis as required and not according to a timetable. Due to the distance between these parking spaces and the terminals, the waiting and transfer may take longer. We therefore strongly recommend reaching your parking area in good time so that you can set off on your journey without stress. Plan at least 40 minutes for the journey from the car park to the terminal.

 

 

 

Questions about seasonal car parks



General information on the seasonal car parks

During peak travel periods, we make special seasonal car parks available. These can only be reserved using our booking platform. These are temporary parking areas outside of the airport premises. We therefore advise you to plan more time to get to the airport so that you do not end up with time pressure.


Getting to the seasonal car park

You will find the exact address of the seasonal car park on your booking confirmation. Please find out how to get there in good time before the journey. Make sure to always allow extra time, and find out about any roadworks or traffic problems.


How entry works

The means of entry authorisation depends on the seasonal car park you have booked. All the necessary information is included with your booking confirmation. Please read it closely before setting off.


How to get to the airport/terminal (and back to the seasonal car park)

Depending on the seasonal car park you have booked, there is either a shuttle bus to and from the airport included in the booking, or you have to organise transport to the airport yourself, for example using public transport or a taxi. You are already informed about this during the booking process when choosing your parking product.


Inclusive shuttle:

  • The shuttle bus does not operate according to a timetable, but based on individual requirements and demand. Due to the distance between the seasonal car parks and the airport/terminals, the time for the journey as well as the waiting time may be significant. We therefore urgently advise you to arrive at the seasonal car park you have booked in good time.
  • The shuttle bus is free of charge.
  • It commutes back and forth between the car park and the airport between 3:30 a.m. and 0:30 a.m.
  • Plan at least 40 minutes for the transfer from the seasonal car park to the terminal.
  • The bus stop at the terminal is on the Arrivals Level. You will board the bus to return to the car park at the same bus stop where you get off on arrival. 
Without shuttle:
  • If you have booked a seasonal car park space without a shuttle, it is up to you to organise and pay for the journey to the airport (and back to the car park).
  • We advise you to use public transport or a taxi. Information on getting from the car park to the airport, including contact details, is included with your booking confirmation.


If you enter/exit earlier/late

It is of course possible that your flight times will change. This is why we have designed our parking products to allow you to arrive and leave earlier or later.

The following options are available to you:

  • Earlier arrival: You may enter the car park earlier than booked. For more information, consult your booking confirmation.
  • Later arrival: Your reserved space will be kept free for you for the entire time you booked, so that arriving later is always possible. Please note that there is no partial refund for later arrival.

  • Earlier departure: Leaving earlier is of course possible. Please note that there is no partial refund for earlier departure.
  • Later departure: Departing up to 6 hours later than booked is not a problem. After this, Hamburg Airport reserves the right to remove the vehicle from the seasonal car park at your expense.
If you are not able to adhere to these time limits, we urgently advise you to cancel your reservation using the booking platform. Options for changing and/or cancelling reservations are addressed in the FAQs above, under "General questions on the reservation process".
