The newly established Laudamotion airline today celebrates its inaugural flight at Hamburg Airport: the airline is operating a daily flight from Hamburg to Palma de Mallorca. Modern Airbus A320 aircraft with around 180 seats are being used on the route.
“In terms of passenger numbers, Palma de Mallorca is one of our most popular European destinations,” says Michael Eggenschwiler, CEO of Hamburg Airport. “Almost a million passengers flew from Hamburg to Mallorca in 2017 alone. So we are delighted that Laudamotion is responding to this great demand for flights to the German people’s favourite island, increasing the service on this route and filling the gap that had arisen compared to last year’s services. Our passengers benefit from an even greater range of choice for flights to their holiday destination.”
“We are thrilled to be able to offer services from Hamburg. With access to Ryanair.com — the world’s most visited airline website — Laudamotion has a first-class platform for its network of more than 60 routes from Germany, Austria and Switzerland,” says Niki Lauda, Chairman of the Board at Laudamotion. “We want to win over passengers with the great price-performance ration and the quality of our on-board product. In addition, we have a comprehensive route network and, of course, the typical Lauda service mindset,” adds Andreas Gruber, CEO of Laudamotion.
Starting at €19.99 for Hamburg-Mallorca
The departure of Air Berlin and NIKI from the market meant that Hamburg Airport had a lower seating capacity for flights to Palma de Mallorca this summer than in summer 2017. Laudamotion’s entry means that, once again, more flights to the Balearic isle are available for the passengers. Laudamotion tickets from Hamburg to Palma de Mallorca start at 19.99 euros and can be booked online at www.laudamotion.com.
