Free installation of sound-absorbing ventilators
The most important benefits at a glance
The airport has been providing local residents with free installation of sound-absorbing ventilators in bedrooms for many years. However, there are persistent prejudices against the ventilators, so that up until now only a proportion of those entitled have made use of this offer. The most important benefits of the ventilation devices are therefore explained in what follows. In addition, the illustration below shows how easy and clean it is to install the devices.
1. Fresh air without noise
Fresh air and noise protection are no longer a contradiction when a sound-absorbing ventilator is used. The ventilator takes over the function of an opened window, particularly at night. It provides the necessary fresh air, with the window closed and without a draft.
The ventilator does not replace rush airing. This must be continued as normal.
2. Optimum air supply guaranteed
The sound-absorbing ventilator can be continuously adjusted and ventilates the room with up to 60 m³ of outside air per hour. One person requires 30 m³ per hour. The slight overpressure caused by the supply of air escapes through “non airtight points” in the house, e.g. through the extractor hood or under doors.
3. Controlled ventilation saves energy
The ventilator supplies the room with exactly the quantity of fresh air which is needed to create a healthy room climate. An open window, in contrast, lets four to five times more cold air into the room, which in winter has to be heated again. Controlled ventilation therefore saves heating energy and thus CO2.
4. Protection from pollen, odours and fine particulates
In addition to the standard filter for insects, there are various extra filters which provide protection against outside environmental influences e.g. exhaust fumes, pollen or fine particulates. Filters can be changed easily.
5. Almost no cost or maintenance requirements
The electrical power consumption of a ventilator is only 9 W. If it is used for eight hours per day, this amounts to an electricity cost of approx. 5 euro per year.
Maintenance is limited to occasional cleaning of the standard filter. The filter only needs to be changed every five years.
6. Small, compact and unobtrusive
The compact construction of 25 x 40.5 x 11.5 cm enables it to be installed on almost any outside wall, even on sloping roofs. The white front can be easily painted with emulsion paint in the desired shade.
7. Anti-burglary protection
A ventilator, in combination with a time switch, enables controlled ventilation of the house or apartment even during longer periods of absence, without providing an “invitation” to potential burglars with a tilted window.
