STARS

STARS – Special Transport and Ramp Service – connects people with aviation by providing high-quality transport services. STARS takes passengers to the aircraft by bus, ensures that crews reach their aircraft on time, and uses special vehicles (known as "pushbacks") to tow aircraft from their parking position to their taxiing position. STARS also provides aircraft deicing services at Hamburg Airport.

The company also operates outside of the airport, offering passengers a first-class limousine and chauffeur service and the TRAVELPorter Airport transfer service, which collects passengers in North Germany at their front door and takes them to the airport. STARS also operates at the airports in Berlin-Schönefeld and Frankfurt. Hamburg Airport owns a 51% stake in the company and LEOS GmbH, a Lufthansa subsidiary, holds the remaining 49%.
